Walmart Summer 2015 Beauty Box

It seems like every company out right now has their own subscription based box. I would go broke if I even tried to attempt getting a subscription to even more than a handful so I try to pick what I think is the best offer to try out new products. Walmart has their own form of beauty box which costs just $5 you get four boxes throughout the year Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter. I wish this was a monthly box but for $5 you really do get a good selection of products to try out.

The Summer 2015 box boasts 8 products to try out! They always seem to include at least one full size product in the box. This box came with

1.8 fl oz Dove go fresh body wash in mandarin & tiare flower
1 oz St Ives blemish control apricot scrub
1.7 fl oz Clear scalp & hair therapy anti dandruff shampoo
0.5 fl oz Neutrogena Sport SPF 70 sunscreen
full size NYC liquid lipshine in the shade Nude York City
0.05 fl oz vial of One Direction You & I perfume
0.84 oz Nivea soft moisturing creme
3 day sample packet of Jergens natural glow moisturizer
pack of 3 makeup brush coupons for ecotools, real techniques and essential tools

Nice little treats for only $5 sure these aren't high end brands but still an affordable way to try out products!

High Tea!

One thing I enjoy doing is going to a high tea! I just discovered high teas and tea rooms in general earlier this year. I've never been a huge hot tea drinker (I've always preferred iced) I quickly found out though that tea rooms aren't just about tea! High teas are served in courses along with usually a soup or salad, finger sandwiches, and of course dessert. Going to these high teas have introduced me to all kinds of foods I had never had before. My best friend and I have made it a point to visit a new tea room each month. The one I'll be sharing in this post was our 5th tea! We made a trip to Fredrick Maryland to have high tea at the Serenity tea room.

I had never been to Fredrick before and it was a super cute town! There were a ton of neat little eccentric shops with lots of locally made products for sale. I purchased a few things which I'm sure will be in an upcoming YouTube video! There was one shop I just oooh'd and ahhh'd over the display window but unfortunately they were not open so I couldn't go inside. I was so intrigued though by the shop window, so many cool things it just screamed my name. I will have to get back there sometime to visit.

The high tea was fine, it wasn't my favorite out of the the other 4 I've been to but I'm always thrilled to try out different places because each place I go to does things in a different way or offers things the others don't. This particular tea room had a TON of teas, you name it they had it. You could get the traditional hot tea or you could get it iced. I also liked how each person got their own little pot, usually at teas you share a pot with the table but this way you got to choose your tea and it was unlimited. As long as you finished your pot you could have as many kinds of tea as you wanted. Our first course was the soup and this was a new one for me because it was a COLD soup. I had never had a cold soup before! The choices were cucumber or strawberry and I chose strawberry

See how cute the little personal teapots are? The strawberry soup was good but to me it was just like eating a strawberry smoothie but with a spoon. Good, but not amazing. At other teas they would serve each course separate but here they brought everything out at once on a three tiered tray.

So pretty! So at the bottom tray were the finger sandwiches (cucumber, roast beef, egg salad, etc) these were all decent but not anything that had my taste buds going crazy. The middle tray was our scones (we chose strawberry) it tasted good (like frankenberry cereal which was kinda weird) but still decent flavored. However they were super dooper thick more like a biscuit then most of the scones I've eaten before. There was also a tea bread on this platter. The last tray was the dessert tray which featured two of the same fruit tarts one with a passionfruit filling the other was I believe cream cheese. Two little cookies and a chocolate covered strawberry. It cost $30.95 (tax and tip not included in that amount) I'm used to paying around $25-ish for the high teas I've been too previously so this one was kind of steep and my least favorite. If you are in the area though they do offer a cheaper afternoon tea at $25.95 or a more expensive royal tea at $38.95 Not sure where we are going for our tea in July but I'm excited!
